She came into the food industry by chance but after a sell out day at the October EPM with her original Salted Caramel flavour we are all very glad she did!

Tell us about yourself and what you offer at the market...

I am 29, originally from Adelaide and moved to Melbourne 3 years ago and absolutely love it here. I started making my salted caramel sauce to give as gifts to family and friends at Christmas time. The feedback was really good and everyone kept saying you could sell this so here I am! I pride myself on the quality of the product and the homemade rustic-ness of the packaging that I make myself. I love meeting new people at markets; some people have never even heard of the flavour so its great to see their reaction when they try it for the first time.

When did you know you first wanted to be in the food industry?

I have been brought up in a family who love good food, good wine and love to entertain. My parents are in their element when they have a group of people around for dinner and they can try new recipes they have picked up from their extensive travels around the world. My Nanna was an amazing baker from all accounts and I have been lucky enough to inherit some of her recipes. Both of my siblings are in the food industry my sister (a Pharmacist by trade) has a cake pop business and my brother (an Engineer) smokes and cures his own bacon and trades it through his blog Trade It For Bacon. So I guess it's just in the genes!

What inspires you to cook?

Making a good quality product that brings a smile to people faces. Sounds corny but I really don't think I would have ever ventured into selling this if I didn't receive so many requests!

Describe your perfect day...

Start the day with a run, late breaky at any one of my favourite Melbourne cafes, wander around a market or go for a drive to explore a new area, home for dinner on the couch and some trashy tv!

What is your best ever culinary creation?

Probably my salted caramel macarons for which I use my sauce. They are gooey and delicious!

Describe a lesson you learnt from cooking failure...

Always use good ingredients and good utensils!

What's the scariest movie you have ever seen?

I am ridiculously scared of the dark so it doesn't take much. Prisoners would be up there - creepy and stuck with me for a long time.

What's your favourite childhood book?

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly...looking back it's actually pretty morbid.

What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?

If a job worth doing is worth doing properly

What's your favourite tunes to get you in the cooking mood?

Loving Boy & Bear at the moment, crank it and dance around while I cook.
